well currently ive boxed out my entire boot.. new floor and everything... ive put the sub box in the boot adn everythings there... theres nothing fancy atm though... just straight edges and angles but with the box tp magna it kinda suits it... i got paid today and am waiting for the $200 check to clear before i go somewhere (not sure where) to purchase some carpet/material to cover everything... if any of you are experianced in cover boxs etc in carpet i would like to here how you do it... as i havent done much in the past but i have a general idea... plus witht eh off cuts im gonna cover the stepouts for the 6inch's in the front door and the custom box for the rear parcel shelf (more on that later as im still coming up with a design) thats gonna hold my existing speakers and probably a few more pairs of 6 inch 2ways... (cheapos but for $20 a pair i can afford them now and replace them with quality gear once i get a real job)

I justt installed a box in the TS yesterday, housing an MTX 15" RT.
Head on down to Clark Rubber on Howit St, and talk to the guys in there. They have a good range of carpet including rubber backed (if you want sound deadening from midrange droning), or justt some cheap carpet (as i got) for about 12 bucks a Sq mt.

i was in a bunnings in melbourne on the week end and they got some good stuff too... almost matched the original excrement perfectly but i didnt have the cash... has anyone seen any in the ballarat bunnings? if not i spose i'll go down to clark rubber like i orginally planned but i want some stuff that doesnt stretch and maintains its shape... the rubber backed excrement sounds good but how much a metre is it? and do you know if it comes in a really dark grey? i dont mind spending about $20-$30 on it but much more and i'll have to wait about a fortnight before i get it.. and i dont want to do that...lol... plus once i got it all covered i will be adding some neons to the top of the box and some well placed aluminium tape to act as a mirror... justt to ice the cake... then if i got some money left over i might even buy a sub to go in it...lol... then probably down to some cheapo shop to get some pad lock hinge type things justt to add some security for my amps... (you'll know what i mean if you see it...)

i got some more 6inch 2 ways last night from autobarn... (god i love my discount card..lol) and am in the process of trying to put them on my parcel shelf... with the amount of space i have atm i might justt be able to squeeze the buggers on there flat but im not counting my chicken so to speak... if im lucky and have a flash of brilliance (rare) i might be able to come up with some sort of design that allows me to have the four 6inchs and the 6x9's but that would involve a lot of planning and quite a few angles... and all the while i is gots sto remembers that i gotta leave room for my two 3inch ports which will be going through the parcel shelf and into the top of my sub box...

Woah! thats some load of equipment. What are you planning exactly?! Not to turn you off the subs but boss is not really a... well... how should i put this... umm... -they're crapola. That amp, 2ch 220wrms @ 4ohm; you gotta remember that these 'el cheapo' subs WILL be 4ohm and not 2ohm capable, and i can almost garuntee that they will be around the 150-300wrms mark, so power will decrease and to run at least 2 of each of the 10, 12 & 15" simultaneously, you will need at least 3 of these amps. Anywayz sorry about all that rubbish lol. I would really like to hear this setup when you're done! Should be a good SPL setup. btw are you housing all subs in 1 joined enclosure, or divided into parts? If they are ported enclosures have you thought about port tuning frequencies? 1 more thing, what about power? i mean electrical; will u have another battery? or capacitor(s)? That carpet, the cheap stuff i got IS good for price. No stretch and will hold shape. I didn't even use glue. I justt stapled the sides and it holds like a dream.

i havent really got the time or money to think about appropriate sized boxes (ie tuning) but i just want something loaud... plus im going for a few subs purely for the look too... (d**n thats stupid you say?)... but it will look really cool and still be better than my current setup... those boss subs arent too bad though.. you may nock them but my mate jamie..(yes jodie and joely its THAT jamie) has one of those 12 inch subs and the thing really pumps... hes got a pretty good system but im looking to out play it..lol (rivalry.. the downfall of man..lol).. so the way i figure.. in a much bigger ported(and possibly partitoned) box, running three of the mungrells should produce the bowel moving bass im after without kicking the excrement outta my already empty wallet... plus i thought id throw the 15 in just for fun too... i was orriginally gonna put two 15's in then thats it but i changed me mind... plus i didnt have the space.. the 10 inches though are probably not going to hapen.. due to space.. but:
whats happening ATM: i had my flash of brillance and spent most of today (uni had to wait it was that good a flash!) making some boxes to hold the brand spanker 6inches i picked up from autobarn (with my discount card of course lol) and figured that with a lot of time (spickin ages!) i could make some odd shaped boxes and squeeze em in the corner of the parcel shelf between the 6x9's and the back window... then i move the existing 6 inches right up againts the 6x9s and squeeze the ports inbetween them... so it roughly looks like:
[6inch][6x9][6inch] (port) [6inch][6x9][6inch] (port)
the inside pair of 6inchs are in a rectangular box that is as small as you can possibly make it and still fit the mutha in it and the other six inch boxes are the same with two corners cut of... now you may think yeah that is simplae but i will pay someone(not really) $100 if they can make me a speaker box thats 1.5 inches tall by 6.5inchs square that has 6 sides... nice 45 degree angle cuts on the sides and everything.. it took me ages... but its done now(looks a little shaggy atm) but once i cover all of it in carpet it should looks really good... by the way i also sealed the boxes completly with some caulk (just to finnish the day off)

by the way i shouldve answered it in the behemoth that was my last post but i plan on running two of those amps plus my original(avalanch av800) which will power my speakers.. if i do for some crazy reason decide to put the 10inches in as well i realise i will have to get another amp... mind you they wont berunning anywhere near peak output coz i know boss arent the best subs(and probably have an over stated power handling) and will probably blow out if i run REAL power through them... but if i do get some real money i'll probably get rid of the boss subs (they only cost about $80 each) and put some others in... but i will most likely keep the amps... by the way... i completely killed my battery today... anyone recomend me a high performing low cost battery that could deal with the stereo excrement ive listed, a whole lot of neons and especially the fact that i alwasy have the music way up..? i might even get two but im not sure on the things id have to do to set that up.. ive heard its not as simple as wacking another battery in you boot and wiring the mutha up...
ps, while im asking for imput, any know of a capacitor that would do alright it smoothing out my power supply and stopping the drain on everything else? cheers...

by the sound of your setup, adding the further 15"s or 10"s would justt lead to them being out powered by the spl of the 12's. A partitioned box would be appropriate for the reason that if 1 sub decides to give up the chase (blows), the remaining would have double the quantity of enclosure volume therefore making them work harder and less efficient. Although wouldn't a partitioned box require 3 ports? one from each partition. Or you would end up with 2 ported and 1 sealed enclosure.
A twin battery setup WILL be needed, and i recommend a 1.5 to 2.0 fahrad capacitor or at least 2, 1 fahrads. I have no idea with the twin battery setup and would like to learn too.
Btw, do you know the frequency ranges of the subs? i would like to know if possible.

all i know is whats posted on the web site... (view the link i put up) if one of the subs blows i will be replacing it straight away as they're not very expensive... by the way the 15 wont be in the same box and it will be probably be operated by a switch in the remote cable...
