Hi Everyone We justt bought a 97 TF Wagon. Nothing special compared to your beloved vehicles, but we love it none-the-less. ;D I've already taken care of a few things with it like getting a cargo blind added to the barrier and fixing various non-functioning lights. I also seem to wash it a lot more than my last car and we've only had it a week. I'm stumped on how to get the blasted cross bars off the roof rack without the allen key. Can anyone here help please? It's kinda urgent because we'd like to get them off before taking a trip on Sunday. Anyone know where I can get a key? I don't even know if it's a Mitsu part.

Hi maxsmum, sorry i can't really help you much on this one (don't know much about 3rd gen magnas)
My best advice is to call in to your nearest Mitsubishi dealer and find out if is a genuine component, or at least give them a ring... they should be able to help. Look around the roof-racks for any labels of brand names or product ID numbers. Its very hard to tell as there are many aftermarket roof-racks available.
If it is a genuine mitsu part you should be able to get a key from the dealership spare parts.

Thanks for your reply FireStorm I actually wanted to avoid the dealership because of my recent experience getting a blind. Salesperson knowledge left a lot to be desired and price definitely indicated their monopoly on product. Ended up ringing the 4WD Megastore on Sutton St. Autobarn actually recommended the Megastore when I was after a blind, but they don't stock those. Anyway, Jason there was extremely helpful and even went out of his way to remove the bars for me. ;D PS My 11yo is into Magna spotting now. He reckons we've now got the COOLEST car. I'll mention to him to keep an eye out for boot reflectors! Also justt printed out the instructions on debadging and will try to convince hubby that it'll be a good thing.

hhahaa debagding is way easy bro, fishing wire, slice slice slice, it pops off, and clean the crap off with bug and tar remover (OR thinners?)
P.O.P! (piece of pi55)
now you have a magna, you will certainly have akeen eye now aswell when you spot a nice one......you'll suddenly find yourself going "gee thats a nice magna, how big are those rims?........KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD DADDY!!"
